OneByZero appoints former UOB and Citi technology leader Srivatsan TA as Chief Architect and Field CTO to build AI-native architecture for financial institutions

OneByZero (OBZ), an AI deployment company that helps regulated enterprises operationalise AI at scale, today announced the appointment of Srivatsan TA (Sri) as Chief Architect and Field CTO.

Financial institutions across Asia Pacific are moving AI from the innovation lab into credit decisioning, payments, treasury, transaction banking, customer operations and wealth. Here the stakes change. Core banking platforms are deterministic: every transaction must reconcile, every decision must be explainable and every change must survive audit. AI is probabilistic. Making the two operate as one, without compromising the reliability, control and regulatory accountability banking depends on, is an architecture problem before it is a model problem.

Sri will lead OBZ's architecture and engineering strategy, including the reference architectures and product portfolio behind its AI Coworkers. He will work with CIOs, CTOs and Chief Architects to set secure, governed and repeatable standards for taking AI into production on the bank's critical systems.

Sri brings experience across technology strategy, architecture, engineering and transformation. A BITS Pilani graduate, he has held senior architecture and engineering roles at Citi, Barclays and UOB, and has architected more than US$2 billion of programmes across global financial institutions.

Most recently, Sri spent more than a decade at UOB as Executive Director, Architecture, Engineering and Developer Experience, across Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking and Digital Assets. His work spanned the bank's flagship digital banking, payments and wealth platforms, and he helped establish UOB's generative AI capabilities, including its AI architecture.
